Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Typically, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or additional effect when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few key items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several pieces.
This will enable the item to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will have no more than two affixes to choose from, while a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade process requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is located in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item does not reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material but will have a lower chance of success.
Engineers may use a level in order to compare the height of the building with an established point, such as a benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is an important aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item or damage, as well as other characteristics. This can be done through the menu for items or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be used in the rarest of circumstances.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level that has been filled.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd be able to get the stats that were important most to your build more often than other items. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be a great or bad thing dependent on your needs and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are offered in addition to the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the higher your chances of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also includes several sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on a unit. This is a great method to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can give players a faster route to a more powerful character and allows them to climb higher levels and advance in the game faster.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They can be different sizes, contain no elements, or have a single element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, including size and shape.
There are a range of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. item upgrader makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.
Set items can be upgraded to include specific tools that are suitable for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to the level of the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button in the character screen. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking, weapons and jewelry offer greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
